Active Release Technique is a hands-on soft tissue technique
The technique is effective in treating dysfunctional tissues including muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves
Injuries can be both acute and chronic in nature. Both of these result in your healthy soft tissues being replaced with thick and fibrous, scar tissues. ART is used to locate those affected area to treat the scar tissue and adhesions to establishe proper movement and function.
Soft tissue adhesions
Acute injuries, repetitive injuries, micro trauma, and hypoxia (not getting enough oxygen) can all result in soft tissue scarring and adhesions.
This scar tissue binds up and restrictios soft tissues that need to move freely. As scar tissue builds up, muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons causes tendonitis, and nerves can become trapped. This can cause reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and pain.
How do overuse conditions occur?
Over-used muscles (and other soft tissues) change in three important ways:
Acute Conditions - Pulls, tears, collisions, etc
Micro-trauma - Accumulation of small tears
Hypoxia - Not getting enough oxygen
What is an ART treatment like?
Every ART session is actually a combination of examination and treatment.
The ART provider uses his or her hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements. These treatment protocols are unique to ART. They allow providers to identify and correct the specific problems that are affecting each individual patient. ART is not a cookie-cutter approach.

What Our Patients Say
I have had chronic shoulder pain for almost a year and he has been able to greatly increase my range of motion and reduce my pain using Active Release Technique as well as some adjustments. I highly recommend this clinic!

On-site care
Utilizing Active Release Techniques
Throughout the years the word has spread that ART is an extremely effective soft tissue management system and many individuals, groups, and business entities have come to rely on ART care. Our office provides on-site care, resulting in fewer overuse soft tissue injuries which leads to lower OSHA recordables and ultimately less workers compensation. This technique can guarantee the highest quality of soft tissue care to private industries, insurance companies, and sporting organizations.
